What I'm Making

Mugs

Mugs are my favorite thing to make, because no other item is used as often in times of relaxation and contemplation. I aim to make each worthy to become someone's favorite.

Tumblers

I'm also very enthusiastic about these thin handbuilt tumblers, although I have to persuade people to use them like glasses. They are very lightweight and don't take up much space in a cupboard, but easily hold a beer.

Ikebana

These low vases used for traditional Japanese flower arranging are great creative fun. Just a few flowers, leaves, or dried stems can be artfully arranged by anyone, with centuries of tradition to explore.

Classic Vases

Many of these have carved shoulders and classic form and restrained colors that serve as a great foil to all types of flowers.

  Raku Trays   Jars
Bowls

I make a variety of bowls, many with carved rims for serving.

Hand-built Mugs

Quite a bit different.
